Zero-Shot Prompting
Zero-shot prompting is the most fundamental interaction pattern between humans and Large Language Models.
It represents a scenario where the model is asked to perform a task without being shown any examples.
Although it sounds simple, zero-shot prompting reveals both the strengths and the limitations of modern LLMs.
Conceptual Meaning of Zero-Shot Prompting
In zero-shot prompting, the model must rely entirely on:
- its pre-trained knowledge
- general language understanding

This works well when messages are straightforward.
However, ambiguity increases error rates.
